Simple and Quick Solutions for the Unexpected -- A Morning of Helpful Tips and Fixes for Organists!

 The varied morning workshop will feature a presentation "First-Aid for Organs" by Larry Pruett owner of Columbia Organ Works (Columbia, PA)

and short performances by three chapter members sharing recently discovered and practical organ pieces.  


9:00    "First-Aid for Organs" -- Using a small demonstrator windchest to illustrate the type design of most organs, which includes some pipes and

associated component parts, Larry will discuss the commonly encountered problems that an organist could face often at the most awkward times. 

With the help of visual aids, Larry will offer suggestions for relatively quick and practical solutions for these mechanical challenges.

10:30   "Recently Discovered and Practical Organ Literature"  Performers Helen Anthony (Derry Presbyterian, Hershey), David Binkley

(Camp Hill Presbyterian), and Shirley King (First Presbyterian, Carlisle) will share some organ gems -- also sometimes known as "a new find"....

"what I keep coming back to".... or "favorites in a pinch!"  Bring your favorite scores along to share too!

Directions: From the front of the Farm Show Building on Cameron St., proceed west on Rt. 322 (towards State College).

The first exit will be Linglestown Road. The next exit, Fishing Creek Valley Road is the one you want.

At the end of the ramp turn right and go 4.5 miles on the Valley Road.

Turn right on to Countryside Lane. We’re the first driveway (unpaved) on the right.
